Celebrate, connect, and create something meaningful with your favorite people. Our private studio events are perfect for birthdays, team-building, bachelor(ette) parties, social clubs, family gatherings, or anyone looking for a hands-on artistic experience in a warm, welcoming environment.

  • Paint-Your-Own-Pottery

    Jump halfway into the process by selecting a pre-formed piece that's ready for the final step: glazing!

  • Try-It Wheel Throwing

    Try your hand at wheel-throwing and learn the basics of creating a small bowl or tumbler from a raw lump of clay!

  • Handbuilding from Scratch

    Learn how to shape a piece off the wheel! We'll guide you through the process from a lump of clay into a useable form.

  • Carving and Customization

    Start with a pre-formed piece crafted by one of our talented staff ceramicists, and make it your own by carving into it or adding onto it!

    Use our space for your creative needs! We have a wide variety of craft supplies including paints, jewelry/beads, linocut prints, fabric, paper and collaging. Contact us to collaborate on a custom private event.

Timeline

4–8 weeks before your event

Email us at events@meldmakerstudio.com with your event date and time preferences, your project of choice, and your expected number of attendees. We'll work with you to lock in a date, time, project, and cost.

Upon booking

You'll receive your deposit invoice for 50% of your projected event cost. Your deposit payment is due within 5 days upon booking or 4 weeks prior to your event, whichever is later, in order to secure your date and time.

1 week before the event

Final guest count and remaining balance are due. If not paid, we will cancel your event and retain your initial deposit.

Event day

You may arrive 30 minutes prior to your event start in order to set up any food, drink, or decorations. Plan to have attendees arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your event to allow for traffic, parking, and locating the studio.

4 weeks after the event

Your finished pieces will be available for pickup.

Logistics

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled 4 or more weeks prior to your event, your deposit will be fully refunded.

If cancelled 1 week or less prior to event, we will retain your deposit, and any refund any remainder payment(s) made.

You may reschedule your event at no cost 1 time. Note that due to scheduling constraints, our next available date may not be for a number of weeks.

Studio Use

Our studio is spacious and contains a few different work areas. Any work areas not needed to facilitate a private event will remain open to our members for their use. If you require full-studio privacy for your event, please mention that prior to booking; note that this request will restrict the days and hours during which we can accommodate your private event.

FAQ

Are your private events kid-friendly?

All of our private events can accommodate teens (13+), and many can accommodate children (12 and under) with adult supervision. Please check the specific project you're interested in for additional age requirements and restrictions.

How long will my event last?

Our events will typically range from 2-3 hours. For additional duration details, check the specific event option you're interested in.

Can I bring food and drink?

Yes! We encourage folks to bring celebratory food and/or drinks. If alcohol is being consumed, there may not be any underage attendees present. Please note in your event request if you would like to bring food and/or drinks so that we can plan space for it accordingly.

Do guests need experience?

Not at all! Our events are beginner-friendly and fully guided.

When can we pick up our finished pieces?

Finished pieces are typically ready for pick-up about 4 weeks after your event.
