Carve some light into your life! Make a custom clay luminary that fits a tealight or LED candle, perfect for brightening your cozy evenings at home.
A pre-thrown rounded cylinder will be provided for each participant to carve their own luminary. Before your leave, you'll choose your interior glaze and exterior glazes from our extensive studio collection — dozens of glazes, colors, and finishes to choose from! — and we will glaze and fire your piece for you! Your luminary will be ready to pick up 4-6 weeks after the event.
Want to glaze your own piece instead of having an instructor glaze it for you? Select the "Luminary Carving + Glazing Session" and for an additional $10, you can come back on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 (originally Feb 10) from 6:30pm - 9pm and learn how to glaze your luminary. No worries if you can't or don't want to come back - the basic "Luminary Carving" ticket includes an instructor glazing your piece for you!
No experience is necessary, both beginners and experts alike are welcome! All supplies needed for this experience will be provided by Meld, so all you need to bring is yourself and your creativity. We'll have an experienced ceramicist to lead you on your journey. Be sure to arrive on time to ensure you have ample time to create your piece.
Please note that there will be sharp tools in use (specifically, X-Acto knives) during this workshop. For this reason, we recommend children 13 years old or younger join us for a different workshop.
