Romance and fantasy collide in this Romantasy inspired carving workshop! Giving homage to the literary phenomenons of today's popular culture, we are giving you the chance to decorate a ceramic drinking vessel with any design that tickles your fancy.
A pre-thrown stemless wine tumbler or tankard will be provided for each participant, and our talented instructor will guide you through the process of stenciling, carving, and glaze choices. We'll have stencils and designs for you to choose from, including dragons, swords, celestial bodies, quotes, and more. You're also welcome to draw your own, or plan ahead by finding some inspiration! If you have an idea for a design, you can email the stencil image to events@meldmakerstudio.com prior to the event and we'll print it out for you.
After carving, you'll choose a glaze from our extensive studio collection — dozens of glazes, colors, and finishes to choose from! Instructor glazing is included in your ticket for a single color and your fully finished piece will be ready to pick up approximately 4 weeks after the event. Alternatively, if you'd like to decorate and glaze your piece with more detail, you can register for a glazing session dated 2 or more weeks after your workshop to come back and glaze it yourself! This is a great option for folks who have intricate glazing designs in mind or who want to learn about the glazing part of the process.
No experience is necessary, both beginners and experts alike are welcome! All supplies needed for this experience will be provided by Meld, so all you need to bring is yourself and your creativity. We'll have an experienced ceramicist to lead you on your journey. Be sure to arrive on time to ensure you have ample time to create your piece.
Tickets are non-refundable if cancelled within 72 hours of the event. However, we'd be happy to transfer your tickets to a friend for you!
