Wheel-Throwing 4- or 8-Week Series | Beginner-Friendly | Thursdays, Spring 2026
Couldn't load pickup availability
Join us for a 4- or 8-week long, beginner-friendly wheel-throwing course at Meld with an opportunity for course extension. We'll cover all the wheel basics to get you started — from a lump of clay in a bag through to a finished piece you can eat off of, drink out of, admire, use daily, and enjoy for years to come. Students will be working and practicing on the wheel for all 4 weeks.
At the end of the 4 weeks, students will have the option to continue for a second 4-week wheel course (with additional wheel skills and techniques introduced), or to select their glazes and have staff finish their pieces, which will be ready for pick up 2-3 weeks following the final class. Alternatively, folks that wish to glaze their pieces themselves may join us during regularly-scheduled Workshop Glazing dates.
Details
Each class participant will receive up to 15 pounds of a smooth-throwing clay, 2.5 hours of instructional wheel time per week, options to make-up a missed class toward the end of the session (because life happens), and all the tools, glaze, and firings needed to create and finish your pieces end-to-end. Folks are typically able to finish 8-12 pieces per course, depending on the size of the pieces.
Our series classes run small, with a maximum of 6 participants to 1 instructor, to ensure that each student receives personalized instruction, advice, and guidance specifically geared toward your personal needs and areas of improvement. Our goal is to build your foundational techniques and your confidence at the same time, so that you can continue to practice and grow in what is often a very humbling craft!
Schedule
This class will meet from 6:30pm - 9:30pm on the following dates. Instruction time will begin at 6:30pm and end at 9pm, and guided clean up will occur from 9pm - 9:30pm.
If Thursdays don't work for you, don't worry! We'll be rotating to other weeknights throughout the year. Get on our class notifications list or follow us on Instagram to hear about upcoming class schedules.
